Spicy Green Bean and Shrimp Stir Fry
October 28th, 2009 by Dawn, Co-founder of Rouxbe
Shrimp and Chinese long green beans are the two main components of this simple, yet wildly flavorful stir fry recipe.

The marinade for the shrimp, which is essentially the sauce, consists of sambal oelek, soy sauce and mirin. This combo gives the beans and shrimp that nice spicy-salty-sweet flavor.

This recipe calls for Chinese long beans, but you can just as easily use regular green beans. I just like the Chinese green beans as they are something different than the norm’.

Plus I like that they have straight edges, so when they are cooked and served they are nice and even…nerd alert…nerd alert!!!!

I like to serve this stir fry with either steamed jasmine rice or coconut-infused jasmine rice. For those of you that do not eat shrimp, you could also do this same recipe with chicken or even tofu.

Here is the step-by-step Green Bean and Shrimp Stir Fry Recipe
When shopping for the Chinese long green beans, you may be lucky enough to find them at your local grocery store, as more and more stores seem to be carrying them now. If not, find your local Asian market and you will be sure to find them there.
Hope you enjoy – dawn!
This looks great. It reminds me of my father’s cooking. OF course, he’s the better cook.
